2024 NOCA FALL: Tryout Information, Fall Season, & More [Full Details Inside]

Thank you for your inquiry into NOCA Baseball! We are currently identifying and trying out potential players at all Grades/Ages for Fall 2024.

Please contact me directly at 504-813-9229 to discuss the process we utilize to enroll/tryout New Players and the varied programs we offer during the calendar year.

Player Tryouts

NOCA uses In-Person Instructional Baseline Assessment.  We use this more intimate workout as our “Tryout”, rather than having a Cattle Call Tryout.  Instructional Baselines allows for a deeper evaluation by offering Video Analysis in Hitting/Pitching, Cognative Benchmarking, & Skill Set Movement Efficiency.  This assessment also serves as a Benchmark to work from regarding a player’s Future Individual Development.

NOCA’s Fall Season:

NOCA uses (5) Weeks during each Fall (Sept 14th to Oct 13th in 2024) to prioritize teaching the upper level baseball dynamics, offer Continual & Ongoing Player Assessments, drive Player Mentoring, and have a real plan for Parent Education on “What’s Coming Next” in your son’s baseball journey.

Sept 14th - Oct 13th

• Academy Skills Workshops (1) Weekday Night

• Older Players Mentoring

• No Fall Tournaments

• Caters to Football & MultiSport Athletes

• Arm Care Program

• Indoor Facility (The Shop)

• Games vs JUCO’s

• 100% Local to New Orleans (No Travel)

Quick Note About Spring/Summer:

Each Fall Player will be provided an opportunity to play on a 2025 NOCA Spring/Summer Rosters.  We use the Fall to better assess players and then more intelligently Player Slot for our next Summer Rosters.

Quick Note About Winter:

Winter is strictly a season for Skill Development.  NOCA offers Winter Training Programs for 13’s to 18’s.  Enrollment is first offered to NOCA Families.  November-January.  The aim is to get players ready for their School Season.

Quick Note About Spring:

Prep/School Baseball takes priority during the Spring.  There is No Travel Ball even allowed by The LHSAA.  NOCA remains active by offering The Shop: Thrower’s & Hitter’s Lab as a one of a kind 24 Hour Indoor Facility and by offering Instruction to players when they request it.

The Fall Setup

NOCA offers (3) Fall Venues.  Each venue follows the same model offering a Game on Saturday, a Game on Sunday, and an Academy Skills Stations Workout on a midweek evening.

College Venue: Varsity Players

(4) Varsity Rosters that compete against each other on Saturdays & Sundays.  These are Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores.  There will be some Freshmen that grade into College Venue.  All College Venue Players also receive the (2) Fall College Showcases included in their Fall Tuition.

Sept 14th-Oct 13th

Rapsodo Tech used for every game.

(2) College Showcases with over 15 Colleges Attending

Prep Venue: 10th, 9th, & 8th Graders

(4) JV Rosters that compete against each other on Saturdays & Sundays.  Academy Skills Stations Workout are partnered with College Venue Players.

*if a player is ready for College Venue, then we will slot him to Play Up with College Venue.

Pre-Prep Venue: 13 Year Olds.

This is NOCA’s entry level.  13’s are organized into (4) Rosters that compete against each other on Saturdays & Sundays.  13’s have their own Academy Skills Stations Workout on Thursday’s at 7:00pm at John Ryan Stadium.

No Fall Tournaments: The Why

We simply do not engage Travel Ball Tournaments during the Fall because those tournaments are not scouted, the best players aren’t playing there, and arms are not ready to throw more than (1) Outing on a weekend.

NOCA creates its own Private Model.  We offer a higher competitive landscape than any Fall tourney you can find, we limit the injury risk by scripting the games, we account for the multi-sport athlete so he can attend everything, all players get to play as we don’t use Subs, and we bring the College Coaches to us.
